Reform Readiness – Navigating the Future of Aged Care
Your Trusted Partner in the Future of Aged Care
Understanding the New Aged Care Act
Australia’s aged care system is undergoing a major transformation with the introduction of the new Aged Care Act, which comes into effect on 1 November 2025. This reform is designed to create a simpler, fairer, and more transparent system that puts older Australians at the centre of care.
Key changes include:
- A rights-based framework, including the Statement of Rights, which affirms every individual’s right to autonomy, dignity, safety, and participation.
- Replacement of existing programs (like Home Care Packages) with the Support at Home program, which introduces clear service categories.
- Stronger governance and accountability for providers, including new registration requirements and compliance obligations.
- Enhanced quality standards, including cultural safety, food and nutrition, and clinical governance.
- A streamlined digital infrastructure, including the Government Provider Management System (GPMS) for reporting and service coordination.
These reforms aim to ensure that aged care services are safe, high-quality, and responsive to the diverse needs of older Australians.
How We’re Ensuring a Seamless Transition
Our organisation is actively preparing to deliver services under the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home program. We are committed to becoming a reform-ready provider, ensuring that our future clients experience no disruption and benefit from improved transparency, choice, and quality.
Our readiness plan includes:
- Service Model Alignment: We’ve structured our care offerings to match the new Support at Home categories, including:
- Category 1: Help with Daily Living
- Category 3: Health & Specialised Support
- Category 5: Care Management
- Workforce Development: Our team is undergoing training to meet the new Code of Conduct, worker screening, and quality standards.
- Digital Infrastructure: We are implementing systems that support real-time reporting, client feedback, and care coordination through GPMS.
- Client-Centred Practices: We are embedding the Statement of Rights into all service agreements, communications, and care planning processes.
We are also engaging with government resources, webinars, and transition guides to ensure we meet all registration and compliance requirements once approved.
Our Vision for the Future of Aged Care
We believe that aged care should be:
- Empowering – giving older Australians control over their care and decisions.
- Inclusive – respecting cultural, linguistic, and personal diversity.
- Transparent – with clear pricing, service agreements, and accountability.
- Safe and High-Quality – delivered by trained professionals within a robust governance framework.
As we prepare to enter the aged care sector under the new Act, our focus remains on building trust, delivering excellence, and supporting independence.
We’re not just adapting to reform—we’re embracing it, because we believe older Australians deserve nothing less than the best.
